Kyle...WOW. You and Seba are so generous. I've linked you in my blog. I'm also going to post it in my facebook.

    http://mandymoves.blogspot.com/

I'm also gonna take a look at the prints and see what might go in our new apartment. Does it ship out of the US? I would hate for you to have to route it back to me, here, so let me know if there's an easy way to do it!

Hey Amanda, yep, the company I use for prints is located in the U.S. and has free shipping within the U.S. so no worries! Hope you find something that would look good in your new apartment!

Thanks Isabel, let me know when you've linked!
  • Emily · 1 year ago
I already told you this, but you guys rock. I posted, so hopefully you'll get some new admirers from my readers, and I just have to decide which print I want for the new place!

    Kyle,
I totally agree with the others - You are a star!

I haven't had time to look throughout all the pictures yet, but I am imagining some B/W or sepia of Santiago - let's see! However, I would like to buy a picture (-es) worth a min € 50 euros. Living in Europe I have no idea how to make an transaction and how to get the picture, but please start by noting me down for a min. of € 50 and then we can coordinate the details later. Perhaps, a personal handover in December/January?

    You have my email!

    Take care, Caroline
  • Mamacita Chilena · 1 year ago
Hey Caroline, I could definitely ship to Europe but then most of the money would go to shipping costs, so if you don't mind, we can wait until you're here and do a handoff...

Plus, that gives us a reason to FOR SURE meet up so you don't stay in hiding like the last time you visited :P

http://claresays.wordpress.com/2008/10/06/like-... posted it. Also, you should send out something to the Chile Spouse email group... who knows....

It's an inspiring thing you've done-- you and S. should both be proud. I like that you're trying to avoid the band-aid fix people often rely on when donating or otherwise working towards helping others. A little education goes a long way and this could be the lucky break needed to really improve Marcelo and his family's lives.

Good luck with the photo sale. I hope other people can kick in a little or that at least this leaves a lasting impression on them.
  • Abby · 1 year ago
Kyle, this is amazing of you!! I feel so passionate about donating to worthy causes (not band aids as you put it!) and education is something I really believe can really make a difference. I linked you on my site.
  • Tyffanie · 1 year ago
Hey Kyle....I finally got to my computer to be able to like a post to your blog! Such a cool idea! I'm excited to see how much money is raised and how Marcelo's education progresses!

    Hi Kyle
Exactly – The handover we can arrange in the future and I won’t be hiding anywhere! Shipping is def. too expensive plus I have to transport them over the Atlantic, which seems kind of stupid

In terms of the pictures can you suggest any? I am interested in some b/w or sepia either of buildings, sculptures, nature (Like the one with the cobbled stone and the leaves) or settings with persons. I am imagining a set of 2-3 pictures to be hung on the wall

In terms of the money, please let me know if you like a transfer via a bank transfer, PayPal or???
  • kumichan83 · 1 year ago
Hola, I just linked to this post on my blog... sorry so late. So how do you deal with shipping to other countries? I am going to pay for the shipping of course but UPS and those other companies charge an arm and a leg so I will stick with USPS. I just hope some jerk doesn't steal my photo!
  • Mamacita Chilena · 1 year ago
Kathleen, thanks! I was thinking that I can include your photo in the shipment down to Chile with the group batch and then individually ship it one to you from Chile since I think that will be less expensive than shipping your individually from the U.S. to Ecuador...
  • Cachorrita · 1 year ago
    What a great idea!
  • kumichan83 · 1 year ago
hey, sounds good! just use correos de chile. are you having them all shipped at the end of the month? i am gonna wait a few days to order since my paypal balance is currently zero. i will transfer the dinero for the photo and then you can let me know what the shipping cost will be when you find out what it is and i will send that to you. thanks a bunch!

What an admirable decision! You and S. are undoubtedly helping someone change his life.

I linked to your post on my blog.

About the photos, are the postcards only sold as sets, or can they be sold as single prints too?
  • Lindsay · 1 year ago
I do not know you Kyle but I follow your blog because my husband is Chilean (but we live in the States, though I met him in Chile). YOU ARE AMAZING! Generosity out of solidarity is so respectable, and even though we are broke I will try and buy a photograph of yours (plus they are beautiful).
  • Mamacita Chilena · 1 year ago
Haha, Lindsay, don't worry, I totally understand the broke part! But, even if you could just pass the link along to a few people that's more than enough!
  • Gus · 1 year ago
    Hi again

I just read this. I don't know really what to say 'cause I think that if I just repeat what other people said wouldn't be original. All I can say is that you and your husband have "big balls" to help somebody in such an important part of life as education. But those big balls wouldn't be anything if they are not supported by the big heart you both have. Congratulations on these, and I'll try to help as much as I can with posting the link on my blog.

Also... I think that a nice photograph wouldn't look bad in the apartment that I share with my beloved one, so I'll tell her to check out the pics with me and see if we can afford one.

Big hug for you and your boyfriend and thanks for helping one in need.
